Role - Livestream Encoding Engineer

Crankworx is the top freeride mountain-bike event in the world. Highwire Digital has been brought in over the years by Red Bull Media House to make sure everything is in crystal-clear High Definition and can be viewed seamlessly by a global audience. And for such a massive footprint on Whistler mountain, only experience and nerve can encode this much action so it looks and sounds effortless.

Our expertise in this kind of complex webcasting only comes from being there since the beginning of livestreaming. We've seen the evolution of technology and work hard to stay on top of the next phase. A client like Red Bull demands excellence. They support our efforts because they know we bring it. Through effort and know how, we lay a solid tech foundation so the story can unfold without interruption.

Wings For Life World Run (Putting one foot of content in front of the other)

Role - Producer

The Wings For Life World Run brought together a vast spectrum of athletes, from part-time joggers to professional marathoners to compete in a unique race to raise money for Spinal Cord Research. With no fixed distance, thousands of runners set off at 10AM UTC from 35 cities in 10 countries. Highwire Digital was brought in by Red Bull and Ocean Watch to produce Denver, Colorado, a key US live webcast in this global effort.

Seeing all this come together was amazing! Competitors ran in front of an advancing catcher car, every car governed by the single, global-race schedule. The logistics to organizing this webcast were daunting. Yet with a mission of raising funds and awareness to cure spinal cord injury, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Wings For Life foundation, Highwire Digital was proud to use our expertise to make the event a success.

US Open Snowboarding Championships (Long-standing relationship with the World's biggest snowboard event)

Role - Webcast Director

The World's best snowboarders gather annually to partake in the longest-running, premier snowboarding event, the Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships! Since back in the day, Highwire Digital has been setting up shop all over the globe to stream snowboarding's biggest show right to your device. An early adopter of live production, Burton has seen the benefits of reaching a global audience by creating real-time sports entertainment that reaches the market in the way they want to watch.

Talk about a challenge — try battling freezing temperatures and Alpine locations to stream snowboarding's biggest show of the year in real time. The logistics are always mind-boggling and Highwire wouldn't have it any other way. We've learned so much handling the curveballs inherent to this event. Solving problems while putting up premium content is what we do. Thanks to Burton for many years of trusting us to deliver their baby.
